The Nike 1971 - The first Nike Shoe to Wear the Swoosh

Soon, Nike will re-release a very important sneaker. This December, the label is reviving the legendary The Nike 1971. For the label and in the sports sector, these football shoes are a piece of history, as they were the first version to ever show the Swoosh on the sides.

Actually, you know Nike more in the basketball area, as the first known sneakers are the Nike Air Force 1 or the Air Jordan 1 High. But older fans of Nike probably also know the label from football. The Nike 1971 had no weather-repellent properties, therefore the shoe was eventually discontinued. After that, Nike focused more on running, tennis, and basketball shoes.

In 2021, the sneaker returns with the typical details. Black leather makes up the side panels, eyestays, and toe cap. In addition, white Swooshes contrast on The Nike 1971, which are presented in a significantly more bulbous way. Only this makes the retro look perfect. Additional brandings on the tongues and on the insoles then refer to the 1970 World Cup in Mexico.

Don't Miss the Release of the Nike 1971

Hard to believe, but back in the day, The Nike 1971 was released for $16.95. The next official release date is December 6th at Nike and selected retailers, but this time for $240.
