What massive news! One of the currently most hyped streetwear brands is changing hands for a whopping 2.1 billion US dollars. The buyer, "VF Corporation”, is probably rather unknown to most people. But the US American clothing company with headquarters in Greensboro, North Carolina is one of the largest clothing companies in the world and the market leader in jeans, underwear, workwear, and backpacks.
The umbrella brand brings together some of our favourite brands, such as Timberland, The North Face, Eastpak, Dickies and even Vans.
We are excited because, according to the umbrella brand VF Corp, relationships between Supreme and the other brands could now become more "intimate", suggesting that in the future, we could see more collabs between Supreme and the other major streetwear brands.
"We are proud to join VF, a world-class company that is home to great brands we have worked with for years, including The North Face, Vans, and Timberland," said James Jebbia. "This partnership will preserve our unique culture and independence while allowing us to grow along the same path we have been following since 1994," said James Jebbia.
