The first colourway from Salehe Bembury and New Balance was a huge success. The two partners released a massive 2002R inspired by the Antelope Canyon in the American southwest of Arizona. Apparently, it’s not just to stay with this orange sneaker, because the designer has just shown a blue/green New Balance 2002R on Instagram.
Really, the designer doesn’t want to reveal much about the new collaboration. The new teaser image from Bembury only shows the heel of the collaborative 2002R with blue and green hits. The whole thing is titled “Water.” Apparently, the way it’s titled is a hint at the new theme.
At first glance, it looks like the new sneaker will continue the detailed aesthetic of the OG pair. Both shaggy and supple suede surround the heels with neon green fingerprint graphics. Further down, we get the usual contrast with the white midsoles and gold splashes we’ve seen on the predecessor.
“Peace Be the Journey” was the tagline for the first shoe. Since it had already previewed “Water Be the Guide”, “Water” could be the new catchphrase.
