Eight months have passed since the first rumours about a RUN-DMC x adidas collab started, and the laceless adidas Superstar was briefly treated as a possible result of a collaboration. But now, more than half a year later, the people from Herzogenaurach have finally published the official release and collaboration information.

In the early 1980s, RUN DMC got into the rap scene and revolutionised the way we all see fashion, with rappers wearing thick gold chains, adidas tracksuits, and unlaced Superstars with tongues jumping out. The highlight was the open commitment to the brand, which was made clear in the song "My adidas" from 1986. Since then, the adidas Superstar has been an undisputed legend and an ultimate part of hip-hop history.

Now, the people of Herzogenaurach honour the group's undeniable influence on pop culture with a joint clothing and shoe collection.

The collection includes fleece hoodies, crewnecks, and satin jackets. But the absolute highlights are, without a doubt, the sneakers. The two colourways, which will, incidentally, be available in sizes for the whole family, are reminiscent of the style of the '80s. By the way, the shape of the shoe should be a lot closer to the original. In terms of colour, the two styles have a classic design. The world-famous Superstars come in a black and white upper. The affiliation to RUN-DMC is unmistakable due to the striking branding.

Another year has passed and the adidas Superstar will be 50 years old in 2020. So, it’s only appropriate to celebrate its birthday by creating a fat mix of Old meets New. adidas is taking a nostalgic trip by getting its old Superstar and showing everybody how it was worn 50 years ago.

RUN-DMC was in fact responsible for this laceless sneaker in the ‘80s. The hip-hop group actually "laced" the adidas Superstar without laces. Previously, it was assumed that it was a RUN-DMC version. But, meanwhile the official pictures of the adidas Superstar Laceless are out and the signs of RUN-DMC are unfortunately missing.

adidas releases two versions for this iteration: one black and one white adidas Superstar Laceless. The release date is also still known. Both colourways will be released on February 13th at exactly 00:00 am. A RUN-DMC x adidas Superstar "50th" will possibly drop after all. Insiders suspect a release in April 2020.

After the latest leaks from Prada and adidas, we are now looking at further possible collabs from adidas. The brand with the Three Stripes is said to be celebrating its next anniversary with the hip-hop group RUN-DMC.

The adidas Superstar will turn an incredible 50 years old this year. Since 1970, the silhouette has thrilled thousands of fans. World-famous legends, top athletes, and famous skateboarders made the adidas Superstar famous back then. It is without a doubt that the silhouette can be seen from far away.

According to sources, RUN-DMC will soon publish an anniversary edition with adidas: the RUN-DMC x adidas Superstar "50th". Allegedly, the sneakers will show the face of the late Jam Master Jay right on the tongue. He was the DJ of RUN-DMC, which was one of the biggest hip-hop groups in the ‘80s.

Three Stripes in white will be attached to the sides and a Superstar lettering with red accents. Since the group often wore their sneakers without laces, it could very well be assumed that the sneakers can be worn without laces.

If the insiders were right, then a heavy sneaker soon awaits us, and probably almost everyone is looking to see that in their collection. It is anticipated that the sneakers will arrive in April 2020.
