PUMA Celebrates the Legacy of Its Founder Rudolf Dassler with a Legacy Collection

The PUMA sports company is celebrating the legacy of company founder Rudolf Dassler with a new Legacy Collection. The new collection contains various classics from the PUMA archive. Some of the silhouettes that were once designed for the field of sports have been reissued as lifestyle sneakers.

The New PUMA Legacy Collection

The brand new collection includes the Fast Rider, Sky Lo and Mid, Capri, Mirage, Ralph Sampson Lo and Mid, Oslo City and Roma 68.

"Rudolf Dassler wanted the athletes wearing his products to have the abilities of a cougar. That means that when they wear PUMA shoes, they become as fast, smooth and agile as a puma," said Helmut Fischer, archivist of PUMA, "He tried to combine these qualities with PUMA shoes and lead the athletes to victory."

Record athletes who wore these styles in the '60s, '70s and '80s included U.S. sprinters Tommie Smith and John Carlos as well as basketball legends Clyde Frazier and Ralph Sampson.

The models are reissued in white premium leather and accentuated with coloured textile tongues in PUMA's long-standing basic colours. The shoes will feature original brandings and gold metal jewelry with the original Rudolf Dassler branding.

Where Can I Buy the PUMA Legacy Collection

The Heritage collection was released worldwide on June 1st on PUMA.com and at PUMA stores and selected retailers.
