READYMADE x Nike Blazer Mid White

Nike and its partner READYMADE fully live out the deconstructed DIY approach using Nike's oldest basketball sneaker, the Blazer Mid. The Swooshes are clearly more bulbous and partially hang down. They are also significantly thinner than a regular Swoosh.

The duo took inspiration from the 1971 version of the logo. But the READYMADE x Nike Blazer Mid "Black" and the "White" have much more to offer. So, let's take a look at the two new sneakers.

Your gaze constantly switches between the upper and the sole. You just don't know where to look. Not only do the big side panels and the voluminous brandings look crazy, but also the sole looks rather weird.

Nike and READYMADE originally designed the soles with clay moulds, and over time, a little experimentation redefined them to give the lateral treads much more structure. But not only is this unusual, the laces also raise some question marks. As many as three pairs lace the READYMADE x Nike Blazer Mids for a layered look.

Added to this are the recycled materials, with the sole made of about 15 percent Nike Grind. Nike Grind is a mix of recycled materials that come from worn-out sneakers and Nike production waste, which would normally end up in the bin.

This "White" version looks much more subtle because of the clean walls and contrasting Swooshes.
