Off-White x Nike Air Max 97

The "The Ten" series by Virgil Abloh, together with Off-White and Nike, was one of the biggest success stories in the sneaker scene in 2017. The hype that was created was hard to believe. We also received countless L's in the raffles (and 1-2 wins 😀). But the fact is that this deconstructed style by Abloh has completely stirred up the sneaker scene in 2017. The limited edition Nike icons in typical Virgil Abloh style were just too irresistible.

In "The Ten" collection from 2017, Abloh took ten popular silhouettes from Nike and completely deconstructed and reinterpreted them. The results are truly unique models, which are also confirmed by the resale prices.

One of these ten reinterpretations was this Off-white x Nike Air Max 97. In all of the ten releases, you can clearly see Abloh's influence right away. The designs are all inspired by the industrial design, creating this wacky and "unfinished" look. For example, Abloh has turned the tongue completely upside down, stamped some labels on it like "SHOELACES" and "AIR”, and put a cable tie on the silhouette. This way, Abloh has brought the unmistakable “Off-white look" directly onto our favourite Nike models. Abloh has kept the AM97 in the Off-white colour that he has applied to most of the silhouettes from the "The Ten" collection.

If you want to catch a piece from the collection, you will have to settle for really heavy reseller prices. The Off-White x Nike Air Max 97 was released in 2017 and was, of course, instantly sold out. Even at "normal" retail prices, this silhouette is no longer available!
