Today, a picture has been leaked on Instagram showing a new Nike Dunk Low. At first glance, it seems to be just a new colourway, but the inspiration is impressive. Nike has taken inspiration from Setsubun.

The upper of the Nike Dunk Low "Devil" is in different shades of brown, while purple marks the Swooshes and the inner lining. The best feature of this design, however, is the insoles, which feature the iconic painting "Kintoki Throwing Beans at Fleeing Demons" by Utagawa Kuniyoshi.

The Nike Dunk Low "Devil" is rounded off by a bright midsole, transparent outsole, and special branding on the heels.

Setsubun is celebrated by families in Japan by throwing roasted soybeans at the front door one day before the spring season begins to cleanse the house and ward off evil spirits. This year's festival will take place on February 3rd. Unfortunately, the drop of the Nike Dunk Low "Devil" has not been confirmed, but we'll follow up and notify you in time.
