New GEL capsule from Vivienne Westwood and ASICS Tiger
English designer Vivienne Westwood presents to us her next collaboration with ASICS: the ASICS GEL collection in a white colourway. Vivienne Westwood is a true icon and important designer in the high fashion world. Westwood became famous for her punk designs in the mid-‘70s. Her current creations and collabs are characterized mostly by historically inspired apparel and bold graphic prints.
The designer's latest design shows a second capsule with three different ASICS silhouettes: a GEL-DS Trainer OG, a Hyper GEL-Lyte and a GEL-Saga. Previously, in July, we have seen the first pics of the GEL saga with a white upper, white laces, and the famous Vivienne Westwood logo on the heel. Probably the most daring feature of this sneaker is the transparent outsole and the Renaissance-inspired artwork. To complete the look, the insole is also designed along the lines of the European cultural era.
The GEL-DS Trainer OG has a multicolored overlay with a variety of colours that adorn this modern sneaker. The insole is decorated with François Boucher's "Daphins & Chloe" painting. Blue and red accents on the outsole complete the overall design.
The one that stands out the most from the collection’s three designs is the Hyper GEL-Lyte and its all-over print. The upper is completely covered by the wondrous masterpiece from 1743.
