Not only does adidas have some news to announce, Nike is also changing some important internal positions within the company. This was announced by the Board of Directors of Nike, Inc. on October 22nd. Hopefully, the year 2020 will start quite well for Nike with new people responsible for new beginnings.

Mark Parker (left) has been CEO since 2006 and both President and CEO since 2016. This new year, he will become Nike's CEO and continue to lead the Board of Directors. Former eBay CEO John Donahoe (right) will then take the position of President and CEO.

“This is an exciting time for Nike, where we see global brand strength and dynamism as well as a great opportunity for future growth,” Parker said. "I am very pleased that John is joining our team. His expertise in digital commerce, technology, global strategy and leadership, and his strong brand relationship make him ideal to accelerate our digital transformation and build on the positive impact of our Consumer Direct Offense. I look forward to continuing to lead the Board as Executive Chairman and working closely with John and the management team to help him transition to his new role.”

Consumer Direct Offense is a digital force from Nike that enables consumers to create personalized advertising, further expanding growth and product development.

"It's an honor to be president and CEO of this amazing, innovative company and to join the more than 76,000 talented and passionate employees who are committed to athletes," Donahoe said. "For the past five years, I have been proud to be associated with Nike through my role on the Board and now look forward to being a full-time member of the team that will work even more closely with Mark and build on Nike's success."
