UNICEF is a non-profit organization that has been helping children in need for over 60 years. The organisation is one of the development policy institutions of the United Nations. In order to further expand its status, the children’s charity is creating a line with Louis Vuitton, in which a part of the proceeds will be donated.
But, this is in fact not the first collaboration that the luxury brand is presenting with UNICEF. Since 2016, the two partners have been working together to collect donations, which are used primarily in developing countries. In recent years, UNICEF x Louis Vuitton have both collected an incredible 10 million USD worth of donations.
Together with Virgil Abloh, UNICEF is designing a UNICEF x Louis Vuitton Silver Lockit bracelet in the colours black, blue, indigo blue, pink, and orange, as well as a elegant silver bracelet. Each bracelet can be adjusted and consists of a LV lock made of 925 sterling silver. The coloured models cost 250€, while the elegant version costs 500€. For every bracelet sold, 100€ will go to UNICEF. So, in a way, you are not only doing something good for yourself, but also for children in developing countries.
On February 21st, the UNICEF x Louis Vuitton Silver Lockit bracelets will go online. Here is the direct link to the Louis Vuitton shop.
In other news, you will find the Louis Vuitton FW20 collection by Virgil Abloh.
