For decades, adidas has been consistently introducing new sneakers that are designed for marathon runners. They are often inspired by the names of marathons, countries, or cities. These include unique sneakers such as the adidas Berlin, Boston, or Stockholm.

adidas and size? has decided to continue their collaboration and dig deep into the archives. For the next version, the two partners have chosen a sand-colored ZX 500 named "Jordan". The brand with the Three Stripes and the British retailer are thus honouring the Jordanian Wadi Rum marathon with this latest release.

Furthermore, the two partners are extending the series of this unique silhouette by launching another model, which is designed specifically for the said marathon.

Not only is the 260-kilometer course, where runners have to walk through Jordan's caves and graves in 5 days is the main focus, but also the striking colour of the ZX 500 that emphasizes the big obstacles.

The colours couldn't have been better chosen by size? and adidas Originals. The upper is fully covered with a sandy hue. Right below is a breathable mesh material and solid suede that comes with a light brown tone. The laces and the tongues match the overall colour, while contrasting orange shades spread across the tongue patches, the Three Stripes logo, and finally, the collars.

A neon yellow TPU heel stabilizer and eyelets complete the overall design, while a yellow heel tab with an "’80s" print reminds of the ZX 500’s debut. Back then, the competitive runners were already wearing the same adidas high-tech running shoes.

The complete design is reminiscent of the sneakers from 1984. The densely woven toe box and thin midsole are strongly patterned after the original design. Now, the ZX 500 from adidas Originals comes out with a Boost sole for maximum support.

The size? x adidas Originals ZX 500 "Jordan" relies heavily on its lightweight design. The breathable mesh base ensures that your feet will always stay dry.

The modern Boost sole must have caught most people’s attention with this shoe. However, the style is still largely based on the retro running shoe of that time and is reinforced with a sturdier and more durable midsole, while the coarse, pimpled outsole provides optimum grip.
