Nike has already proven its ability to combine art and innovation in numerous iterations and with this new silhouette, the brand even surpasses itself. The Nike React Vision is a brand-new sneaker and combines what is perhaps the best cushioning with the sublabel D/MS/X.

For a long time now, we've been reading the term or abbreviation "D/MS/X" over and over again. But what does it actually mean and where does the name come from? Nike employees may have heard D/MS/X a few times before and believe it or not, the name "Nike" is in fact connected to it in a certain way.

In 1971, Phil Knight wanted to call the sports company "Dimension Six" and not "Nike". In the end, however, he chose the goddess of victory, Nike.

But after many years, the name finally found a use and now, we get to read the same sublabel on many new silhouettes. The Beaverton-based brand combines a futuristic aesthetic with the name and when we look at the sneakers, we also recognize these technical elements.

The Nike React Vision is based on Nike's comfortable React cushioning and is in harmony with the D/MS/X aesthetic by virtue of the multi-layered materials and distinctive shapes. This gives sneakerheads not only a fierce lifestyle sneaker, but also a sporty shoe.

The shape is overall very slim and athletic. It stands out through a strong and at the same time, light mesh, which is combined with equally strong colours.

The "Black" colourway should fall under the "Classic" category. A black upper and the white midsole provide a simple contrast. Above the midfoot, a white Swoosh shoots and it docks right on the React sole and also has slight perforations.

The "White Iridescent" definitely belongs to the summer. The glossy details and clean look attract attention and leave a lasting impression on anyone who even looks at the shoes when passing by. The grey accents in the middle area give the sneakers the perfect finish.

In our opinion, this is the best colourway the vision could ever get so far. Sure, the white and black colourways are classics and always remain on trend, but the colours create a completely new summer feeling. On the upper, Summit White, Barely Volt, Black and Laser Crimson are combined. This is indeed a very wild arrangement of colours, but they do harmonize with each other and deliver the perfect result. By the way, the inspiration comes from the famous Casa Gilardi in Mexico City.

The shoes have numerous technical details. We celebrate the light weight, the padded inserts and the ultra comfortable sole. Nike's lightweight React foam supports the rolling motion of the foot and provides the comfort we very much expect from a Nike React sneaker.

We admit to questioning the strange perforations as well. Nike took inspiration from the poison dart frogs, while still achieving a seamless transition that delivers that certain something. Add to that is a sturdy heel clip that rounds off the overall design. But it remains to be seen whether the rear spoiler was really necessary.

Nike has once again demonstrated its knack for extreme genius. The Nike React Vision is very futuristic and sporty. We love the multi-layered material and subtle details as well as the premium comfort.
