Nike SNKRS Day is over, and some fans were quick to share their concerns online. There weren't really any brute releases, but there were some new ones that did the sneaker game a lot of good. The highlights were the Air Jordan 1 Low and the Nike Air Huarache "SNKRS Day", followed by a surprise drop, the Air Jordan 4 "Lightning".

But perhaps Nike saved the best releases for the coming days. In the last few days of summer, new Dunk colourways and some brutal collabs are dropping. Among them are new Air Max models, Air Jordans, and as a highlight in August, we can welcome the collaborative Air Jordan 1 Low with Travis Scott.

There are also new Dunk Highs that you have certainly never seen before. The new styles follow on from the Nike Air Force 1 "Reimagined" collection, which then featured a total of five bold styles. Their names were Rebel, Jester, Lover, Sage, and Explorer, and they all reflected the different styles of women at the time. Now, it seems Nike is reviving the series with the hype silhouette. The Nike Dunk High Rebel has a similar approach with a modified look.

The roots of the classic Nike Dunk High run deep. Nevertheless, the sneaker looks rather foreign due to the numerous changes. Additional layers, a raised sole, and double brandings adorn the classic basketball silhouette for a modern look. In our opinion, it's quite a good change for a sneaker that has already been released in countless colourways in 2021.

To start with, there are two colourways to choose from that couldn't be more different: a totally crazy Nike Dunk High Rebel "Pastel" and a clean "White" colourway. The Nike Dunk High Rebel "Pastel" is definitely the loudest edition, as almost a dozen colours are used. Individual leather parts are in various pastel shades such as red, blue, and purple, while the double midsole is in white and the outsole in brown.

If the layered look is enough for you and you can do without a colourful spectacle, you should try your luck with the Nike Dunk High Rebel "White". This version perfectly embodies purity with only minor colour variations on the double brandings and superfluous overlays. The chunky white midsoles also reflect the colourway here, while the outsoles in "Sail" round off the overall look perfectly.

Yes, the styles of the Nike Dunk High Rebel "Pastel" and "White" are very stark, but you will surely fall in love with the look. However, you can expect much less from the technical details, because Nike has changed almost nothing here. The upper is made of supple leather, which becomes even softer and more comfortable over time and is reminiscent of the retro look.

Further down, we find a raised midsole, but according to our test, this is of no use. It merely serves the visual purpose for a rebellious style, with responsive foam in the inner core of the midsole reducing weight and providing a pleasant and comfortable feel. The grippy outsole also looks new, but we guarantee you a no-fuss rubber sole with a classic basketball pivot point for optimal traction.

These Dunks bring a lot of fun. While everything points to a new model, deep down, they are still classic Dunks that just mix up the sneaker game a bit. You can find both colourways on August 12th directly at Nike for 120€ each. Feel free to pick up your size, because the sneakers fit true to size.
