In 2021, the Beaverton-based brand has once again dropped several new silhouettes. A bigger one is even still on the timeline. Most recently, we had a look at the Nike Air Force 1 Utility 2.0 and then the furry Air Jordan 1 Acclimate. It seems that Nike is in the middle of a development phase.

Above all, the label continues to expand its offering for its female audience. The small wave started slowly with the Nike Air Force 1 Shadow and later got bigger and bigger with the Nike Dunk Low Disrupt. Meanwhile, a new silhouette has emerged that avid sneakerheads have surely noticed.

The Nike Dunk High Rebel is an exclusive WMNS silhouette and has only appeared in two colourways so far. First up are the Nike Dunk High Rebel "Pastel" and "White", which will both be released on August 12th. Next up is an autumnal colourway. Even though the new Nike Dunk High Rebel "Iron Purple" only tries out new colours, it appears more deconstructed than its predecessors. The layered aesthetic looks much more striking with the colour blocking in "Sail/Iron Purple/College Grey".

A bright "Sail" dominates the smooth leather base, which also carries over to the toebox and collar. In between, "College Grey" interrupts the light base for a neutral look, while "Clear Emerald" details complete the design that is inspired by the Roman goddess Minerva.

But the attention belongs to the brandings on the sides and the layers in between. They're in the titular "Iron Purple" hue, which adds to the already experimental design from the Rebel. Also, silver mini Swooshes stack on the outer brandings. A double-stacked midsole with a final touch of "College Grey" along the outsoles completes the creative design of the new sneaker.

Since the last two releases, we've been getting used to the look of the new Nike Dunk High Rebel. But they don't just look rebellious, they also offer modern technology. After all, at their core, they are still the old Dunks that were originally designed for basketball.

The sneakers are made of leather, which becomes more supple and comfortable over time, while a high collar stabilises the foot during lateral movements. Underneath, you might expect better cushioning thanks to the double midsole, but in reality, the element is just for decoration. Underneath is a lightweight and comfortable midsole and a grippy outsole.

If you are looking for a little change from the usual Dunks, you should try your luck tomorrow with the Nike Dunk High Rebel "Iron Purple".
