Sportswear heavyweight Nike is once again leaving no stone unturned this season and trying out some daring themes. A new Nike Air Force 1 Gore-Tex has already been introduced for the fall and winter program, and next to the water repellent sneakers, models with other outstanding elements have also appeared.

Together with 3M, Nike has designed new colourways using 3M's signature technologies. In fact, the new Air Force 1, which is part of the D/MS/X collection, has reflective components and other new features we rarely see on the classic.

With this model, no one would probably think of an old basketball sneaker because the 3M x Nike Air Force 1 React D/MS/X "Pure Platinum" looks technically advanced. We have taken a closer look at this model and show you the single specs and the new style right here. Have fun!

This season, nobody should ever go out with a boring or uncomfortable sneaker. Fortunately, Nike has some massive models that combine both features. The revised AF1 with 3M has a predominantly grey colour palette.

In between, a bright blue on the heel profile interrupts the monochromatic design, which is complemented by the reflective material of 3M. The new Air Force 1 also has an updated branding. The side Swooshes are significantly larger than the original, and the attached tongue tags with the logo are also enlarged.

Next to it, we see the characteristic Air stamps on the sole with a bold printed stripe slowly surrounding the heels. Only the leather heel inserts rely on the old Nike Air embossed design, while "Habanero Red" rounds off the colourway.

Why are these 3M sneakers different from other sneakers with reflective materials? The answer lies in the terms "Scotchlite" and "Thinsulate". 3M™ Scotchlite™ is the so-called reflective material that reflects light. This naturally gives the wearer improved safety because of the optimized visibility in all work situations, even through rain or snow.

3M™ Thinunsalte™ is the other important component. You can probably already hear the essential terms, because Thinunsalte is a compound term of thin and insulate. 3M has developed a heat-insulating, non-woven fabric made of man-made fibres mostly used for winter jackets or gloves — or this Nike Air Force 1.😉

In addition to Scotchlite™ and Thinsulate™ from 3M™, there are other technical highlights as well. The silhouette features a recessed footbed with Nike React technology. This development is extremely light and very responsive. Hardly any other unit feels so soft and springy. In addition, the wearer gets the distinctive Nike Air cushioning for an even better wearing comfort.

In the past, Blue Ribbon Sports (we call it Nike today) should be called Dimension Six. In the end, the sub-label D/MS/X stands for individualism and enriches us with new and unique designs.
