Update 04.02.2022

adidas has confirmed the return of the Kobe 1, which was reintroduced in 2013 as the Crazy 1. The Audi TT-designed sneakers are coming back in the form of the "Sunshine", a colourway worn by Kobe Bryant at the 2001 NBA All-Star Game.

The silhouette is significantly narrower than the adidas Kobe 2, but the pointed edges and chunky shape mean the sneakers are dubbed the "Space Boot". Right next to it, Three Stripes adorn the adidas Crazy 1 "Sunshine" with a silver finish. The exact release date has not yet been announced by adidas, but the adidas Crazy 1 "Sunshine" is scheduled for release sometime in April.

Update 16.12.2021

adidas has now confirmed the release of the adidas Crazy 97 EQT "Dunk Contest". The sneakers, which were first released in 1997, are set to be reissued for its 25th anniversary in 2022. Kobe wore the pair during the Slam Dunk Contest and made history by becoming the youngest winner of the competition. An exact release date has not yet been set, but the adidas Crazy 97 EQT "Dunk Contest" is rumoured to drop at the adidas online shop sometime in February 2022.

Original article 16.07.2021

Nike and Kobe Bryant ended their partnership in April, and now, it looks like the Herzogenaurach-based brand adidas will be re-releasing its old models. Insiders suspect a big comeback in 2022. Find out which sneakers are supposedly getting a comeback and when they will drop here.

Kobe signed with Nike in 2003, but before he played with the Swoosh, he was part of the big adidas family in 1996. Most notably during his NBA rookie season, the late legend wore the EQT Elevation, now called the Crazy 97 EQT.

To commemorate the NBA All-Star return to Cleveland in 2022, adidas is now set to drop the original "Lakers" colourway that Bryant wore when he won the NBA Dunk Contest. Alongside this, the silhouette is also set to be released in a new Blue/Orange colourway, reminiscent of the '97 All-Star weekend in Cleveland.

Fans are probably looking forward to this model, though. The 2001 Kobe 1, now called the Crazy 1, was Kobe Bryant's first signature sneaker and is rumoured to be released in the original "Sunshine" colourway in April for the McDonald's All-American Game. Also included is the original black and white "Stormtrooper" colourway.
