The year 2021 is marked by several silhouettes, but one model in particular popped up a lot. New Balance brought back its retro classic, the New Balance 550, this year and gave the silhouette strong colourways with great collaborators like Aimé Leon Dore and AURALEE.
In addition to a few inline releases, New Balance is now lending out the 550 once again, this time to UNITED ARROWS from Japan for a luxurious custom edition. Neutral hues cover the suede upper and branding. An ecru hue is most common on the UNITED ARROWS x New Balance 550.
Somewhere in between, ivory accents mark the collar, tongues, and heels. The lightest shade then appears on the brandings and laces. A clean snow white adorns New Balance's "550" lettering and side "N" branding, while the outsoles diverge in grey.
UNITED ARROWS x New Balance 550 Available in Japan
Today, the UNITED ARROWS x New Balance 550 has been released in Japan for ¥16,500 (approx. 140€). Unfortunately, the labels are not planning a bigger drop at the moment.
