Converse and Fear of God ESSENTIALS Revive the 110-Year Old Converse Skidgrip

Update 21.08.2020

The retro trend is very hip at the moment, and the well-known manufacturers are dropping many old and famous iterations again. Converse and Fear of God ESSENTIALS are now announcing an old sneaker that is already unbelievable 110 years old.

"Everything we have tried is starting from a place of honesty. We chose the Skidgrip because it was a shoe I loved when I was younger. Our goal is to revive a silhouette that may have been overlooked to give it new relevance," says designer Jerry Lorenzo.

The Fear of God ESSENTIALS x Converse Skidgrip drops at converse.com on August 27th. Further versions of the Skidgrip will follow in September.

Fear of God ESSENTIALS and Converse released their three-part collection a few weeks ago. Based on this silhouette, there are now pictures of another high sneaker, which is much more eye-catching.

The leaked pictures show a collaborative Converse High Sneaker that picks up the popular retro theme. The model could be based on a Chuck Taylor All Star, although the FOG insignia are not immediately apparent.

The panelled design features a durable canvas upper, which is marked by a multi-coloured pattern and is driven by old-fashioned patterns and colours. Other highlights include thick rope laces and a clean sole with Converse and Fear of God ESSENTIALS patches.
