Awake NY and Vans Plan Their First-Ever Collaboration

A new partnership has been formed this week. Vans and Awake NY announce a collaboration that combines the New York streetwear brand's roots with the footwear brand's west-coast aesthetic. The result is three very special pairs of the classic Vans Sk8-Hi.
The new project from the two labels, which was created in collaboration with Foot Locker's incubator programme Greenhouse, features three edgy sneakers in three different colour combinations. These include blue/red, green/red, and black/pink with a chequered pattern.
Immediately after unpacking, the worn look on the sides comes to mind. Awake NY and Vans create this from a wax-resistant dye with batik swatch fabric. Familiar features include Van's branding such as the white stripe on the sides, a white sole, or the black tongue label. Additionally, Awake immortalises itself with a small logo on the front.
When Is the Awake NY x Vans Sk8-Hi Collection Scheduled for Release?
In the US, the three Awake NY x Vans Sk8-Hi models from the capsule have been confirmed for October 15th on Awakenyclothing.com, followed by the Greenhouse app on October 20th and at Footlocker.com on October 22nd. A different date is likely to follow in Europe.
